02 / WHAT IS THE REBELLE RALLY?
An adventure in
finding your own way.
The Rebelle Rally is a women’s off-road navigation competition across the American West. Two teammates share one vehicle, working together to find checkpoints using paper maps, a compass, and a roadbook.
The rally’s established format spans eight competition days and roughly 2,500 kilometers of dirt roads, rocky tracks, and sand dunes—a sustained test of endurance, focus, and communication.
GPS and internet navigation are off limits, and competitors’ phones stay sealed. Success comes from accurate navigation, smart route choices, capable driving, and the points earned along the way.
Start with a paper map.
Each morning, teams receive checkpoint information and plot locations on their maps. They read the terrain and plan how to reach them.
Make every choice count.
Required checkpoints anchor the day. Optional checkpoints add strategic decisions: which ones to pursue, which route to take, and how to use the time available.
Precision earns points.
Checkpoint difficulty ranges from visible flags to unmarked locations. Roadbook challenges also test route-following and timing. The highest score wins.
BEYOND THE CHECKPOINTS
A moving camp. A shared challenge.
Basecamp travels with the rally, bringing teams together for meals, briefings, and overnight rest. Marathon stages take competitors away from basecamp to camp along the route. Driving, navigation, problem-solving, and trust all become part of the adventure.
